We are delighted to have the Duncan McCrone Band appearing at the Irvine folk club Wednesday the 12th of June. Duncan McCrone is a Glasgow-born singer-songwriter with over thirty-five years experience of live performance both solo and with a variety of traditional bands. Wednesday night you can hear him in concert with the excellent musicians Cy Jack, Fraser Speirs and Mike Bryan.

Irvine folk club is happy to welcome a couple of new artists at the club,  Elizabeth & Jameson, an award-winning folk duo based in Hertfordshire. Hannah Elizabeth and Griff Jameson have joined forces to create an acoustic indie-folk sound, merging their individual musical backgrounds of traditional folk and folk pop/rock. 
Described by BBC Radio Scotland as “Something wonderful” We are looking forward to it!

Briege Murphy is a singer-songwriter of contemporary Irish folk, rooted in the Irish tradition. Her songs have been recorded by many singers, including Niamh Parson, Frances Black and Aoife Scott. Colum Sands called her “Patrick Kavanagh’s spirit- sister”. Briege continues to write and perform and we’re delighted to have her back at the Irvine folk club again.

Irvine Folk Club looks forward to welcoming Scottish musician and singer/songwriter, Adam Holmes, to the club for the first time!
Adam’s 4 albums, Heirs and Graces, Brighter Still, Midnight Milk and Dreamweaver have cast an impressive shadow across the UK Folk Scene and gained him Scottish Album of the Year Nominations (in 2014, 2017 and 2018) and BBC Radio 2 Folk Award Nominations. His songs have  featured widely on BBC Radio 2 and Radio 3, BBC Scotland, Edith Bowman’s BBC Scotland Quay Sessions show and Virgin Radio, amongst many others. 

 

A reminder that the Irvine Folk Club will be holding its annual general meeting Wednesday night the 27th of March, 7.30 pm. All members welcome to attend.

 

Irvine folk club is delighted to welcome the Scottish duo Jim and Susie Malcolm. Jim, a former member of Old Blind Dogs and well known solo performer, has teamed up with his wife Susie, herself an award winning singer steeped in the tradition of Scottish song. “Jim and Susie Malcolm perform traditional and original Scottish song with guitar, harmonicas, harmony and heart.”

Statesboro, Georgia-born, Cambridge, England-based guitarist singer and songwriter Brooks Williams, a leading light on the roots acoustic music scene, has over 33 recordings and has appeared at countless venues and festival for over three decades.

The Irvine Folk club is looking forward to welcoming Reg Meuross Wednesday the 21st of February. Reg Meuross is an English folksinger and songwriter, who has received much acclaim for his subtle and thought provoking songwriting. The reviews below say it well:
