The Irvine Folk Club committee and members decided that it was time for the Marymass folk festival to come to an end; therefore there was no festival in 2024.
The Folk Festival existed for 54 years and brought a tremendous amount of brilliant music to the town during the days of the Marymass celebrations.
However, in order to keep the connection between Irvine folk club and the town’s Marymass festival it was decided that Irvine Folk Club would host a Marymass Concert which took place on Friday 23rd August. The concert was a sell out it was a Charity Concert with all profits being donated to two charities, Brain Tumour UK in memory of Beth Jackson and to British Lung Foundation in memory of Kate Boyce, both dearly loved members of the club. The concert raised a total of £1300. A big thank you goes out to all involved – it was a memorable night.
